Jason Smith is the Founder and CEO of SponsorCX, the fastest-growing sponsorship management platform in the industry. With over two decades of experience in sponsorship and brand partnerships, Jason has built his career at the intersection of sports, technology, and innovation. Under his leadership, SponsorCX has grown from concept to reality—serving more than 300 organizations across North America, Canada, New Zealand, and the UK, including major sports teams, universities, entertainment groups, and brands. The platform continues to expand its reach as a category leader.
Jason began his career in sponsorships as an intern with the Utah Jazz while earning his BA in Advertising Communications (with a minor in English) from Brigham Young University. After graduation, he joined the Jazz full-time in sponsorship sales before returning to BYU as Associate General Manager and Director of Sales for the BYU IMG Sports Network. During his seven-year tenure, he helped grow the university’s sponsorship revenue from under $1M to nearly $10M annually.
He later transitioned to the brand side of the business, serving as Vice President of Corporate Sponsorships & Events at Mountain America Credit Union, where he managed a high-profile sponsorship portfolio and negotiated multi-million-dollar partnership and naming rights deals with properties across multiple states.
Jason founded SponsorCX in 2021 with a mission to bring efficiency, transparency, and collaboration to the sponsorship process. Today, the platform is used by both properties and brands to manage inventory, fulfillment, creative approvals, proof of performance, and stakeholder communication—all in one place.
He is also the co-host of Sponsor Talk, a podcast that features interviews with sponsorship leaders from around the world, highlighting industry trends, personal stories, and best practices.
A passionate believer in the power of sponsorships to create community impact, Jason has helped raise millions of dollars for nonprofits and charitable initiatives. He lives in American Fork, Utah, with his wife Mackenzie and their four children: Gracie, Emri, Sam, and Thomas.
